Download EARS
Step 2

Record version password and instructions for getting started
Record the password you need below, the instructions for "Extracting Downloaded Files" AND getting started with your version. Then click “Next” at the bottom of the page to go to the download site:
PASSWORDS:
SAS 5.1: May’11
SAS 4.5: 15Jan2010
Excel 2.8: Jul’11
EXTRACTING DOWNLOADED FILES: Opposite click on the downloaded file and select "Extract All" from the menu that appears. Enter the password above when prompted.
V5.1: You need administrative rights to install. Once you have rights and the .msi file has been extracted, open it and follow the Installation Wizard’s directions.
V4.5: Extract files to the C: drive. This will result in a C:\EARS folder with 3 subfolders: Library, Tools, & Sample. Also, EARS.sas should be at C:\EARS\EARS.sas. Make sure the file EARS.js is in the Library folder. If not, then your firewall removed it. If so, just rename the file EARS.txt as EARS.js and move it to C:\EARS\Library.
Use the EXCEL spreadsheet named C:\EARS\User_Input_For_EARS.xls to set up analyses. Existing entries are for analyzing sample data included in the download. After entries have been made ALWAYS save it in the same location with the same name. Next, open SAS and run the EARS.sas code to run EARS.
EXCEL V2.8: After extracting files, you should have an EARS_X folder and 4 subfolders: Library, Report, Sample, & Work. The tab "User_Input" in the file named EARS_X.xls is used to set up and run EARS. You can use data in the Sample folder to tryout EARS.
If using Excel 2003, a Warning pops open when opening EARS_X.xls - select “Enable Macros” on it. Macro Security Settings must be set to “medium” to run EARS-X. To check/change this, select the Tools menu in Excel, Options, Security tab and click the Macro Security button. Make sure it is at “medium”.
Two buttons in EARS_X.xls control EARS: #1 loads your parameters and #2 analyzes your data (or use data in the Sample Datasets folder provided). If you need to access the Visual Basic Macros, the password for doing so is: gmj8383
